The British Cheese Weekender is organised by the Academy of Cheese for the coming up weekend to help save British Cheese.
It’s a weekend full of online cheese talks, tastings, cookings this Bank Holiday weekend 8-10 May from Fri to Sun.
As you are all aware the focus from big chain supermarket shopping is shifting onto small businesses, delis, local producers and farms.
This online cheese festival is here to support us, small British cheese producers.
Our cheese Baronet is partaking in two venues on Saturday:
1, Cellar Man Sam is holding an online CHEESEP & cider tasting at 8.30pm on Saturday. All you need is to order your cheese & cider weekender kit sit back and enjoy the streaming.
Cheeses are available and need to be ordered by WEDNESDAY MIDDAY
2, James Grant the owner of No2 Pound Street deli & wine shop is hosting an online Tartiflette cooking session at 9pm on Saturday on Zoom.
Tartiflette is a Savoie dish - layers of potato, onion, lardon and Reblochon cheese originally. James teamed up with Chef James Golding, Matt Wilkin - wine connoisseur and myself the cheesemaker to discuss cooking, the produce and exchange some tasting notes on the selected wine which is best with Tartiflette.
