Cotswold deliveries

This morning I woke up at 5:20 am and in 15 minutes I was out the door. I would lie if I say it was easy and smooth waking up - cannot tell that once I used to enjoy getting up at the crack of dawn .

Anyway the purpose of getting up so early was to pickup the cheeses from The Old Cheese Room and deliver it to two places.

It was the most magnificent ride considering that we are under lock down and that we have not been anywhere ( apart from local deliveries ) for a long time.

My first drop off was at Stroud Food Hub which is a Farmers’ Market converted into a simplified shopping model, about 20 years out of date- customer emails in their order each week. Gerb and his crew are doing a fabulous job keep spreading fantastic products from the producers to their regular and perhaps some new customers. We used to trade there once a month now we are delivering cheeses weekly .

On my ride I went through showers and sunshine, dark and bright with one or two cars on my way. Very peaceful. Beautiful countryside especially coming into Nailsworth and on to Stroud. Really enjoy the lovely village called Birdlip.

My next drop off was The Cotswold Cheese Co. I set my satellite and realised that I will be an hour early to arrive before the shop opens. So I did what I enjoy the most when I drive leisurely - take an unexpected turn knowing that my navigation lady will take me back toward my destination. That is how I ended up driving through a number of tranquil, charming villages in the area and Evenlode. Wonderful tacked away scenery and charming Cotswold stone cottages with wonderful different coloured roses running up on their side and wisteria.

Still I made it ahead of the shop opening time to Moreton in Marsh where I actually took a walk before I was able to drop cheeses off.

Mini Baronets are available at The Cotswold Cheese Co. in the following towns:

Moreton in Marsh, Stow on the Wold, Burford. Also available online 🤗🤗

Support your local cheese shops, delis and by doing that you are supporting many of us; artisan, small cheese making businesses 😊

Needless to say on my way back after Malmesbury I took a random turn again hence I was coming back through lovely hidden gems like Grittleton, Catle Combe, Biddleston then home to ‘Old Gastard’. Still made it back home around 10 am.

Until next time
